You will begin your journey to recovery by checking in at the waiting area of our Scottsdale surgery center. A member of our staff will give you a welcome packet detailing your patient experience itinerary and what to expect during your time with us. You can ask our team any questions you have about the facility or surrounding area.
Clinic exam room
Our surgery center in Scottsdale is one of the larger Laser Spine Institute surgery centers and has 12 clinical exam rooms. This is where you’ll meet with one of our physicians for your initial consultation and MRI review. It’s also where you’ll go for a physical examination prior to surgery and any postoperative appointments. We encourage you to allow your Care Partner to join you in the exam room so the two of you can discuss any concerns you may have with the physician and learn what to expect during your recovery period.
Throughout your stay, you will have the opportunity to relax in between each physician appointment and exam. To make your time with us more comfortable, refreshments are available for purchase for you and your Care Partner and/or family in our patient café.
You can also relax with some television or surf the internet thanks to our free Wi-Fi. If you need anything during your time with us, please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of our team.
MRI imaging suite
We offer a convenient, on-site MRI unit if you need an updated scan in order for our surgeons to assess your condition and create a treatment plan. Our technicians will walk you through what to expect during your MRI and will answer any questions you have. Your MRI will be reviewed by our medical staff to determine your next course of action.
On the day of your surgery, you will be guided to our preoperative area to prepare for your upcoming procedure. This is where you will meet your surgeon and anesthesiologist. We encourage you to take the opportunity to ask the surgeon any last-minute questions about your procedure and expected recovery.
Your minimally invasive procedure will be performed in one of our state-of-the-art operating rooms at our Scottsdale facility. Our surgeons’ passion for medical innovation helps us to stay ahead of the curve on technical advancements. Each of our operating rooms has high-definition magnification and direct visualization imaging equipment, as well as specialized tools that allow our surgeons to perform spine surgery through a small, 1-inch incision.
After your minimally invasive surgery is complete, you will be guided to our postoperative recovery area, where our nursing staff will monitor your vitals and ensure your comfort during your immediate postoperative recovery. Once you are deemed ready to leave, a nurse will meet with you and your Care Partner to discuss your recovery guidelines.
