What to expect at a spine consultation

During your spine consultation with an experienced Laser Spine Institute doctor at one of our surgery centers, you can expect to describe your symptoms, when they started, where they are located, their severity and whether they worsen with certain activities or inactivity. You will also talk about your personal medical history and that of your family’s, particularly if there is a history of degenerative spine conditions. Bring a list of any treatments or medications you have used to alleviate your neck and/or back pain. Your spine specialist will also review your most recent MRI, which you are required to bring to your appointment.

During our spine consultations you can expect:

If we determine that you could be a candidate for the procedures performed by the spine surgeons at Laser Spine Institute

Once you have provided this information, your doctor will be able to determine whether or not you would be a good candidate for one of our minimally invasive procedures. Our board-certified surgeons+ are leaders in performing minimally invasive outpatient procedures using muscle-sparing techniques and incisions. Compared to traditional open spine operations, our procedures are associated with less risk and faster recovery periods.^
