Patients travel from Columbus, Ohio, to find relief
Charles S. dealt with chronic neck and back pain before he made the trip to Laser Spine Institute to find relief. From Columbus, Ohio, Charles underwent minimally invasive neck and back surgery to relieve his pain. “After back surgery, I had no pain in my legs, and after my neck surgery, I had more movement in my neck,” he said. “I am able to walk through Valley Forge National Park, which I couldn’t do before surgery.”
Laser Spine Institute has been able to help thousands of patients, just like Charles, at our regional facilities nationwide. Our regional centers offer patients a streamlined experience and an unmatched quality of care. If you are dealing with neck or back pain, we want to help you get back to the quality of life you deserve.
Causes of neck and back pain
During the natural aging process, every person will experience some level of degeneration. This degeneration can cause a number of conditions including bulging discs, annular tears and spinal stenosis. Though these conditions are asymptomatic on their own, when the degeneration process causes disc or other spinal elements to migrate away from their general location, they can press against the spinal cord of surrounding nerve roots, and the result is immense pain. Conditions that can cause this compression include:
- Facet disease
- Bulging discs
- Annular tears
- Herniated discs
- Spinal stenosis
- Foraminal stenosis
- Bone spurs
- Degenerative disc disease
These conditions can greatly limit the patient’s quality of life and mobility.
If you are dealing with any of these conditions, the first form of treatment should be conservative in nature. No surgeon will recommend treating new pain with surgery until all other options have been exhausted. If conservative treatment does not assist you in finding relief, surgery may become a viable option.
Laser Spine Institute serves patients by offering minimally invasive procedures as an alternative to traditional open neck and back procedures. Our streamlined experience is tailored toward the 60 percent of our patients who will travel to one of our regional facilities. We are committed to serving patients by doing everything possible over the phone, prior to asking patients to travel. This includes the review of an MRI or CT scan.
