Michael Perry

Michael Perry, M.D.,

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Michael Perry received his B.A. degree in 1981 from the University of South Florida receiving honors such as "Who's Who Among American Universities and Colleges." He earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in 1985, where he graduated with the Abdool Islami Award for Outstanding Academic Performance as the top graduate in his class. Dr. Perry completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut.

As the Medical Director of the Laser Spine Institute, Dr. Michael Perry is responsible for the medical clinic and oversees its daily operation. He examines new patients to determine if their pain is orthopedically related and recommends the appropriate treatment. Dr. Perry also provides the patients with medical clearance if surgery is necessary.

Dr. Perry is also actively involved with organizing and presenting academic and informational seminars on behalf of the Laser Spine Institute. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe providing patient education. Dr. Perry has also presented research at many international surgical conferences and his abstracts have appeared in leading publications.

Dr. Perry is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American College of Sports Medicine, the Pasco County Medical Society, and a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons.

Dr. Perry and his wife of 20 years, Michele, have three sons; Matthew and twins Sean and Joshua.


Dr. Zoltan Bereczki

Zoltan Bereczki, D.O., Orthopedic Spine Surgeon

Dr. Bereczki comes to LSI after 6 years of experience in an Orthopedic Trauma unit. Dr. Bereczki received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Union College in Schenectady, New York. In 2000, he then graduated with his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from LECOM in Erie, Pennsylvania. A few of Doctor Bereczki's many accomplishments include his membership to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association, as well as his multi-linguistic knowledge of English, Hungarian and Romanian.


Dr. Vernon Raymond Morris

The newest addition to the LSI surgical team, Vernon Raymond Morris, Jr., M.D. has come to Laser Spine Institute with an impressive background. Born in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Morris attended Pennsylvania State University for his pre-medical education, followed by Temple University School of Medicine where he received his Medical Degree in 1974. Dr. Morris completed his internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he began his orthopedic studies, dedicating 4 years of residency to top rated hospitals such as Temple University Hospital, Abington Memorial Hospital and Shriner's Hospital in Philadelphia.

Licensed in five states, and Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery as well as Pain Management, Dr. Morris has left his most recent practice at Highlands Joint and Spine Orthopedics in Sebring, FL to join the highly acclaimed medical staff at Laser Spine Institute. With a total of 28 years of orthopedic surgery experience, 14 hospital staff appointments, and an extensive record of post-graduate education, Dr. Morris will add his knowledge and expertise to the team. In addition, he holds a list of medical publications, honors and awards such as the AMA Award for Physician Recognition in 1984, 1987, 1990 and 1993. Dr. Morris is also involved in several community organizations and holds memberships in medical societies such as the Florida Medical Association.


Dr. Stefan Prada

Dr. Stefan Prada, M.D., Orthopedic Spine Surgeon

Dr. Stefan Prada came to the Laser Spine Institute after 12 years of dedication to orthopedic surgery at a previous practice and in the U.S. Navy. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with his Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1987, Dr. Prada then went on to receive his Doctorate of Medicine from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. After completing his Surgical Internship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, he began his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock, Arkansas. His many achievements include numerous research publications, Decoration of the Joint Meritorious Unit Award from the United States Naval Forces, among many other Military Decorations, and First Prize for the Outstanding Research Project from the 14th Annual Arkansas Orthopedic Forum.

Dr. Prada relocated to Florida in 2007 with his wife Donia, who is a nurse, along with their 3 children; Angelina, Isabella and Nicholas.


Dr. Kevin Scott

Dr. Kevin Scott joins the LSI team with 11 years of general medical experience and 7 years as an Orthopedic Surgeon. Graduating from Talladega College in Talladega, Alabama with his B.A. in biology, Dr. Scott then went on to receive his Doctorate in 1993 from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. After joining the United States Army in 1994, Dr. Scott then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Fort Wayne Medical Education Center. Some of Dr. Scott's many accomplishments and affiliations include Best Resident Paper, member of the Indiana Orthopedic Society, the American Association of Medical Review Officers and the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Scott has recently relocated from Copenhagen, New York, with his wife, Ramonita, and his daughter, Gabriela. Dr. Scott's passion for innovative procedures and patient care flourishes at LSI.


Dr. Michael Weiss

Dr. Michael Weiss, another qualified and talented surgeon that has joined LSI, is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery. After receiving his medical degree in 1986 from Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Weiss completed his rotating internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Michigan, where he became Chief Resident in 1991. His complimentary and additional education includes enhanced surgical training at Wayne State University, hand surgery at the Detroit Medical Center and total joint surgery at Point Huron Hospital. Dr. Weiss continued his training in pediatric orthopedics at Shriner's Hospital in Tampa, and endured extensive surgical training in adult reconstruction at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After 15 years of dedication to his previous practice in South Florida, Dr. Weiss has chosen to come to Laser Spine Institute and continue his love of surgery and patient care.


Glenn Hamburg

Glenn Hamburg, M.D., Anesthesiologist

Dr. Hamburg was born and raised in rural western Michigan. After graduation from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he joined the U.S. Navy. Following active naval service in South Asia, Dr. Hamburg obtained his M.D. degree from Michigan State University under a Navy scholarship. He completed Anesthesiology residence training at Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. After service in the U.S. Navy in foreign, domestic and shipboard positions, Dr. Hamburg completed his active Naval service in 1997. He has subsequently held several anesthesia department head positions in civilian communities.

Dr. Hamburg is now an anesthesiologist for the Laser Spine Institute and is married with 2 children.


Peter C. Horowitz

After Dr. Peter Horowitz completed his undergraduate degree with honors at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA he continued his journey through medical school and completed his Residency Program in Anesthesiology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY. He has fulfilled numerous clinical anesthesia sub-specialty rotations, trainings and externships and received many honors and awards. Some of his notable honors include Cum Laude from Tulane University, Honors in Biology, Dean's List, Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society and Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor society.

Dr. Horowitz has been employed in various reputable medical facilities, including his title as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans. Other previous anesthesia positions include Northlake Anesthesiologists and Jefferson Medical Services, both located in Louisiana. In addition, Dr. Horowitz had numerous hospital affiliations to include North Shore Regional Medical Center, The Louisiana Heart Hospital and the Doctors Hospital of Slidell. His most recent position, prior to Laser Spine Institute, was at North Okaloosa Medical Center in Pensacola, FL where he served as an Interim Chairman as well.

Peter Horowitz brings over 20 years of anesthesiology experience to Laser Spine Institute. He joined our highly acclaimed staff in July 2006, and continues to use his experience and expertise to be an asset to our medical team.


James Kellogg

James Kellogg, Physical Therapist

Dr. Kellogg was born in Canton, Ohio; "Home of the National Football Hall Of Fame". The Vietnam Conflict interrupted his college education and directed the pathway his life was to take. In the U.S. Navel Medical Corps, Dr. Kellogg was awarded a Letter of Commendation for graduating first in his class and entered the US Naval School of Physical Medicine at Bethesda National Naval Medical Center.

Upon discharge from the U.S. Navy, Dr. Kellogg was awarded another Letter of Commendation for his exemplatory work in physical therapy with burn patients. He returned to BGSU and was awarded a graduate assistantship in the Human Performance Laboratory where he trained Olympic gold medal athletes in track and ice hockey.

After five years in the exercise physiology field, Dr. Kellogg returned to school and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University and opened up a practice in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Kellogg became the team physician for the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Then through his involvement with area hospitals, he decided to return to his first love, physical medicine.

Dr. Kellogg went to the Netherlands and received his degree from the Enschede School of Physiotherapeut. Upon returning to the states, he became director of an outpatient rehabilitation facility for five years, then decided to return to school, but this time as a graduate faculty professor at Florida A & M University School of Physical Therapy.

Dr. Kellogg is a valuable part of the team of the physicians at Laser Spine Institute and is excited about caring for LSI patients.
